A family owned business with 36 top of the range houses close to campus

All our houses have been rented for next academic year

However we are currently looking to buy a six bedroom house near the Eliot Footpath

Under new government legislation this now requires full planning permission

Upwards of 60 residents have objected in writing to any additional student houses in that area, citing (among other things) the following reasons: litter caused by students, students block up the streets with their cars, students don't put their rubbish out on the right days, some landlords don't maintain their gardens, noisy students keep other residents awake at night.

This will be something of a test case and until it is heard at a planning committee meeting it will not be known if the house is available to be rented to students or not.

What it has shown is the strength of feeling in the neighbourhood against students' way of life and against some landlords/agents who don't mow their lawns or maintanin their buildings (thankfully we don't fall into this category).
